When I was a young child, my sister and three brothers and I migrated to Australia from England with our parents travelling by sea on SS Himilaya.  We settled in Brookton, where Dad worked for a local farmer.  I went to primary school in Brookton and Boarding High School in Perth.  I attained my Teaching Degree as a mature-aged student and have taught in the Kimberley region, Singapore, Corrigin and Pingelly.  I became Deputy Principal at Pingelly District High School before becoming Principal at Kondinin, East Narrogin, Corrigin, and finally retiring from Brookton.  I still do some relief teaching and am a qualified celebrant for weddings and funerals, which I find very rewarding.  It is an honour to be a part of such important occasions.

I nominated for Council in 2017 because I want to give back to our community, promote tourism and encourage business development opportunities to establish a thriving business community.  This will bring essential services to the town, supporting local residents and encouraging further business investment.  In addition, I see opportunities in youth development and community health for Pingelly and currently sit on several Council external committees representing the Shire in these areas.  With a bit of extra time in semi-retirement, I enjoy reading, crocheting and sewing and recently embarked on a patchwork project.  I love playing lawn bowls, and given I was never a sporty person; I look forward to improving my game with more practice.

I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Bridgetown and moved to Pingelly in 1976 with my wife, Catie, and raised our three daughters here.  Catie and I were business owners in town for over 30 years.  Now I am semi-retired, occasionally driving an escort vehicle for oversize loads.  I love lawn bowls and am an avid member of the Pingelly Bowling Club.    Our daughters live in Perth and Tallarook, Victoria, with their own families and children, giving us 6 grandkids.  Recently I drove all the way to Tallarook to see our daughter and family after COVID restrictions were lifted.  It was so good to see them after 3.5 years.

This is my second term as a Councillor after being re-elected in 2020.  I nominated because I want to develop the town further and support the community my wife and I have belonged to for over 45 years.  I enjoy all aspects of Council business and look forward to monitoring future projects and opportunities planned for Pingelly.

I grew up as the responsible eldest son in a traditional Indian family. I was inculcated with values of responsibility, fair judgement and non-prejudice from an early age. I was a member of the Rashtriya Swamsewak Sangh (RSS) which further confirmed the eternal discipline and ethics that form the very essence of my day-to-day life. I started my vocational career as a Boilermaker, working for global brands as Yamaha Motorcycle, a career which I pursued for over a quarter of a century.

I represented my co-workers as an active member of the Employees Union in India before later immigrating to Australia in 2009. I am family oriented and focused on the global good. Residents of Pingelly have known me for over half a decade as the publican and an active pro - Pingelly activist that always raises his voice for the local issues and ongoing improvement of the Shire.

I always try to symbolise the ideal immigrant who amalgamates his heritage upbringing and his desire to contribute to the Australian Community as a constructive and critical thinker. I look forward to doing my best for making Pingelly the place to be on the global tourism map in years to come.

I'm the eldest of five children, with one brother and three sisters.  We were born on a farm in Bullaring and attended Primary school in Yearling. After High School in Narrogin I went back to the farm.  I became a pilot in the early 70s, flying out of Carnarvon on charter work.  This experience led me to work in Jandakot and to an Instructor’s Rating to help others gain their wings.  From this I moved to central Victoria, where I owned and operated restaurants and cafes, culminating in works at the Lake House in Daylesford.  In retirement, I enjoy restoring old furniture and staying active as a volunteer.

I’ve always been a people person and thoroughly enjoy participating in my community.   That's why I'm a member of the Pingelly Men's Shed, Tourism Group, and Friends of Pingelly Railway Station.  It keeps me out there, working alongside others who work for the community.  Having belonged to these groups for some time, and still wanting to be more involved, I nominated for and was successful in becoming a Shire Councillor.

Our people and our town are very important to me, and I am genuinely interested in all parts of Council operations.   Pingelly has a bright future with fabulous events, activities and developments planned in the coming months and years.

Growing up in Albany and having worked all over Australia, I have now found a true sense of belonging here in Pingelly. My deep connection to Pingelly is built on 12 years of land ownership, and for the past 3 years, I have had the privilege of being a resident in this wonderful community. My journey from Albany to Pingelly and my diverse experiences have prepared me for this role, where I am committed to contributing to the growth and prosperity of our Shire. As a father to six children, family values are at the core of my commitment to Pingelly. My partner and I made the conscious decision to relocate our family here because we believe in the sense of community and the safe, nurturing environment Pingelly provides for raising children. I am passionate about creating a future where all families in our Shire can thrive, with access to excellent education and recreational facilities. I have many years' experience in health care and mining which has instilled in me a strong sense of duty and community service.

I nominated for Council in 2023 because I aim to promote and support youth events and facilities, providing a space for our young residents to grow and develop their potential. One of my key objectives is to work collaboratively with our local businesses to promote Pingelly's Central Business District (CBD) as I believe that a vibrant and bustling CBD is essential for fostering community spirit and attracting economic growth. I am also committed to advocating for residential growth in Pingelly.

Together we can build a brighter future for Pingelly, where families flourish, businesses thrive, and the community thrives.

When my grandfather arrived in Fremantle after travelling by ship from Italy in 1926, he was offered employment in Pingelly, and the rest is history.  I was born here and growing up in Pingelly alongside my brother and two sisters was undoubtedly an adventure because we made our own fun.   My wife, Stella, and I raised our two children, Natalie and Paul, in Pingelly and have been involved in numerous businesses over the years, including real estate, the local Drive-In Theatre, and a multi-faceted fruit and vegetable market.

In 1975, I joined the Fire Services and am still an active member of the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and the Bush Fire Brigade.

I nominated for Council because, having lived here and been involved in different businesses, I saw many things I could assist in developing strategies.  For example, I want to be involved in developing Pingelly's business enterprise, inspiring our youth to consider volunteering, and providing support services for the elderly, to name a few.

The future of Pingelly looks fabulous.  There is a very positive vibe in the community and one that I am very proud of and want my family to continue to be a part of.

Local Government elections will take place on 18 October 2025.
