Pingelly Council has adopted a 2020/21 annual budget that features a 0% increase in rate income and a freeze on all fees and charges. The decision to maintain overall rates at the same level as the previous financial year, reflects Council’s focus on helping the community and economy recover from the financial impact of COVID-19. The Western Australian Premier has specifically requested local governments unite with State and Federal levels of government to support the community during this state of emergency through the freezing of rates, and Council has responded to this.

Despite the financial impact of COVID-19, the 2020/21 Budget will deliver a number of key infrastructure projects to the community. These include:

Roadworks

  • Wickepin Pingelly Road
  • North Bannister Road
  • Review Street
  • Bullaring Road
  • Milton Road

Shared pathway from the Pingelly Primary School to the PRACC

Memorial Park re-development (subject to grant funding)

Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre

  • Floor remediation works
  • Carpark
  • Bowling green shades

Funding will continue to be provided for the Party on the Oval, the provision of medical services to Pingelly, as well as supporting the operations of the swimming pool, caravan park, library services and other facilities, events and celebrations.

In addition to the 0% increase in rate revenue, Council has also resolved to freeze all fees and charges, including the waste service charge which remains at $310 for the kerbside domestic and recycling service for the 2020/21 year.
