COVID-19 | Maintaining contact registers to keep WA safe

Published on Tuesday, 1 December 2020 at 12:00:00 PM

Our local businesses are continuing to adapt in line with WA Government health advice for managing COVID-19 and keeping Pingelly a safe community to live, work and visit.

Particular businesses and venues in Pingelly will be introducing contact registers from this Saturday. This is a precautionary measure set by the WA Government following the state's transition to a controlled interstate border with the rest of Australia.
A contact register requires a customer or visitor to 'check-in' their time of arrival, name, contact number and email upon arrival. Maintaining this information will mean, in the event there are cases of COVID-19 in the community, the WA Government's team of contact tracers can act quickly to identify people who might have been exposed. These records will only be kept for the purpose of contact tracing, should it be required, and only kept for a 28 day period.
During this time there is a number of ways you can continue to support local business:
  • Like and share content posted on Facebook, as well as tag friends in comments;
  • Share positive reviews with friends, family and online;
  • Purchase a Pingelly Gift Card for a locally-sourced Christmas gift.
