Dementia Action Week

Published on Wednesday, 23 September 2020 at 11:00:00 AM

This week is Dementia Australia's Action Week and reminds us close to half a million Australians currently live with dementia. With this figure forecast to double over the next 25 years, it's never been more important to learn more about this condition and how we can support those closest to us.

It's very timely that as part of the Giving Ageism the Boot in Pingelly campaign, members of the community recently met to plan how a Forget-me-not Memory Café could operate in Pingelly. There are 15 Forget-me-not Memory Cafés operating in WA and they provide important social networks for people living with memory loss, their families and their friends and carers in a supportive and casual atmosphere of a local café. Scroll down the page for photos from the Workshop facilitated by UWA.

Visit the Pingelly Somerset Alliance website to learn more about the Giving Ageism the Boot in Pingelly campaign supported by Pingelly Community Resource Centre | Shire of Pingelly | Department of Communities.
