Pingelly’s impact of the COVID-19 Perth Hotel Quarantine Outbreak

Following Premier Mark McGowan’s press conference at 2.30pm this afternoon, a snap lockdown will be in place for the Perth Metropolitan Area and Peel region for three days as of midnight tonight.

Those who have travelled to and from the Perth Metropolitan Area and Peel region since 17 April will require to wear a face mask in public as of 6pm this evening. If you’re in need of a face mask, Pingelly Pharmacy have stock available.

There are some minor impacts to the events taking place in Pingelly this weekend.

Pingelly Country Collective

The music making workshops, Country Chorus Concert and Jazz Orchestra Concert components by Methodist Ladies’ College have been cancelled, due to staff and students unable to leave the Perth Metropolitan Area.

The Sheepdog Trials, Pingelly Shears, Markets and Exhibits will continue as normal. These elements of the event are taking place outdoors in open space with sufficient room for physical distancing. There will be appropriate hand sanitiser and COVID contact registers available throughout the event. The community is encouraged to comedown and support the Pingelly Tourism Group, Pingelly PS P&C, Pingelly Shears and Esperance Sheepdog Club in a COVID-safe way.

The event organisers are currently contacting competitors, stallholders, residents and visitors to ensure compliance with the new requirements, and will continue to monitor emerging updates to modify the event as necessary.

ANZAC Day Service

The ANZAC Day Service will continue as normal while adhering to COVID contact registers, physical distancing and hygiene.

Current Advice

If you feel unwell it is important to stay home. Authorities have also released a list of ‘at-risk’ locations urging people who have visited these at the same time as the confirmed case to undertake a COVID-19 test and self-quarantine at home while awaiting results.
