The Pingelly Tourism Group and the Shire of Pingelly have joined forces to deliver the annual Tutanning Wildflower Walk on Sunday, 26 September.
Following its growing popularity in previous years, the free event will feature an expanded program of activities with support of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC).
The DLGSC’s Hiking Participation Grant is aimed at growing participation in hiking in Western Australia through the skill development of local people and visitors to be physically active while enjoy the state’s natural assets.
The family-friendly and action-packed day out will feature a guided tour of the Tutanning Nature Reserve and Percy Marshall Research Centre, bush tucker and shelter workshop by an Aboriginal Trails Leader, hiking-relevant first aid, as well as a complimentary morning tea and lunch.
The event will be promoted locally as well as to the wider daytrip and weekend market given Pingelly’s short distance from Perth. The Tutanning Nature Reserve is an ideal trip generator for visitors to travel through the Town Centre to reach one of Pingelly’s natural assets during the peak of the wildflower season.
Pingelly’s collaboration between local and state government, and proactive community groups leverages an opportunity to shape a unique and engaging visitor experience.
