PLANT OPERATOR / LABOURER

An opportunity exists for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, team focused individual to join our Team. The position of Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining trucks and other plant and machinery items to assist in the completion of road maintenance and construction projects. The role will also be required to regularly perform a range of labouring duties associated with road maintenance functions, including pothole repairs, signage maintenance and general maintenance of roads, roadsides, footpaths, kerbs, drainage, bridge structures and other assets.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate

  • A positive attitude, with a strong focus on safety, productivity and customer service.
  • Class MR drivers licence (HR preferred) with relevant operational experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of various plant items relevant to civil construction and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, road construction and maintenance duties.

A total salary package will be negotiated dependent on qualifications, skills and experience as per the Shire of Pingelly Employee Collective Agreement 2017. The salary package includes a cash component of $50,839 to $59,407, up to 14.5% superannuation, four weeks annual leave, nine day fortnight, uniform and training.

TRAINEE PLANT OPERATOR / LABOURER 

An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, team focused individual to join our Team. The Trainee Plant Operator/Labourer will learn how to undertake a range of duties associated with road maintenance and construction functions, including pothole repairs, signage maintenance, general maintenance of roads, footpaths, cycleways, kerb and guttering, drainage, bridge structures and other assets.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate

  • A positive, customer focused attitude.
  • Eligibility to obtain a HR Licence within 2 months of commencement.

The Traineeship is offered for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of continuing employment.

A total salary package will be in accordance with the Shire of Pingelly Employee Collective Agreement 2017, including a cash component of $34,259, up to 14.5% superannuation, four weeks annual leave, a nine day fortnight, uniform and training.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER 

The Shire of Pingelly is seeking a dynamic Community Development Officer to work with community organisations and sporting clubs and to manage and facilitate community programs and events. The focus of the role will be to work in partnership with the local community, to facilitate local participation and enhance individual community well-being.

The position is responsible for applying an asset-based community development approach to achieve ongoing community engagement to build and sustain strong local communities. The role will include planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a range of community initiatives identified in the Strategic Community Plan.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • highly developed project management skills
  • relevant experience in engaging with community members and groups to develop community capacity and enhance well-being
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
  • an understanding and ability to apply asset based community development principles

A total salary package will be negotiated dependent on qualifications, skills and experience, with a cash component of between $57,122 and $68,547, up to 14.5% superannuation, four weeks annual leave, subsidised accommodation, uniform allowance and training as required.
