Important Notice: Microchip Database Companies for Dog Registrations
Dear pet owners and community members,
We have some important information regarding the microchip database companies approved under Regulation 7 of the Dog Regulations 2013. To ensure your pet's microchip details are properly registered, please use one of the following databases:
- Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (ABN 69 793 644 351), trading as Australasian Animal Registry
- Central Animal Records (Aust) Pty. Ltd
- PetBase Pty Ltd, trading as Petsafe
- OzChase Greyhound Racing System
- Global Microchip Registry Pty Ltd, trading as Global Micro Animal Registry
It's crucial to direct any communication or advice to pet owners towards these approved databases only. Proper registration is a requirement and helps keep your pets safe and accounted for.
Important Update: HomeSafeID Ceased Operations
You might have heard that HomeSafeID, one of the previously approved microchip databases, has stopped operating. This change has left a gap in the market, making it easier for pet owners to accidentally choose unapproved databases when registering their pet’s microchip details.
To avoid any issues, please make sure to use one of the currently approved databases listed above.
