The Shire of Pingelly has been successful in securing support from Volunteering WA and Lotterywest to treat our local volunteers (also known as our community champions!) to a sundowner event at the Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre next month.
National Volunteer Week (NVW) in 2021 will take place between 17-24 May and is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteers. This year NVW ‘s three themes encompass:
- Recognising, celebrating and thanking volunteers for the vital role they play in our lives;
- Reconnecting to what is important by giving our time to help others and ourselves, following a challenging and uncertain year; and
- Reimagining how we better support volunteers and the communities they serve.
The Community Champion Sundowner is a closed-invite event for volunteers aligned with a community group, sporting club or not for profit organisation based within the Shire of Pingelly.
