Shire Administration Building Reopened

Visit the COVID-19 Shire Media Releases page for more information.

Social Distancing

Social distancing has been implemented internally at the Shire’s Administration Office. Please sanitise your hands upon entry and remain behind the line inside the reception area. Work from home arrangements have been implemented for staff on an as needs basis, to achieve social distancing and to ensure continuation of service delivery in the event that the facility should be closed for isolation purposes.

Facility Closures

  • Playgrounds
  • Pingelly Skate Park
  • Public Barbecues
  • Water Fountains
  • Tip Shop (Pingelly Waste Management Facility remains open with minor procedural changes to minimise exposure)

Events and Programs

All Shire run events and programs have been discontinued until further notice, including Youth Week WA and National Volunteer Week.

Please stay at home and only leave your home for essential reasons such as:

  • Shopping for necessities
  • Medical/health or compassionate reasons
  • Exercise in compliance with public gathering requirements (no more than two people at the time of posting)
  • Work or study, if you cannot do this remotely

Stay at home if you’re over 70 years of age, over 60 years of age and have existing health conditions or if you’re an indigenous Australian over the age of 50 who has existing health conditions or concerns. Let’s do what we can to stop the spread, staying at home and connecting with each other online, remembering a time that was and that will be again.

Shire Support for Business and Community Groups

The Shire is developing a central listing of local businesses and community groups modifying their activities as a result of COVID-19. All information is correct at time of publishing and is work in progress, so contacting individuals for current information is encouraged.

Please continue to play your part in keeping our community safe, and support our fantastic local businesses as they operate during this challenging time. Any community members or businesses that need support over this period are encouraged to contact the Shire for assistance.
