Pingelly Heritage Grant Program 2026 – Applications Open

The Shire of Pingelly is offering once‑off heritage grants to conserve and enhance local heritage places. Grants of up to $2,500 per applicant are available from a $10,000 pool. Funds are allocated to compliant applications on a first‑come, first‑served basis, so early applications are encouraged.

 

Who can apply

Owners or managers of:
• Places listed on the Shire’s Local Heritage Survey/Municipal Heritage Inventory
• Places on the State Register of Heritage Places
• Places in a heritage conservation area/precinct
(Community and not‑for‑profit organisations managing heritage assets are eligible.)

 

What can be funded

Conservation and restoration works; structural repairs; roof and façade works; window and door restoration; external painting in heritage colour schemes; verandah/façade restoration; heritage interpretation; conservation management plans; heritage impact assessments; and archival documentation. Retrospective works are not eligible.

 

What cannot be funded

New buildings/additions; kitchen/bathroom fit‑outs; new monuments; equipment purchases; routine maintenance (e.g., lawn/gutter/carpet cleaning); relocations; projects with adequate funding from elsewhere; private headstones (except where no descendants can support); floodlighting; projects previously substantially assisted; incomplete prior acquittals; and works on government‑owned buildings still used for government purposes.

 

Funding and co‑contribution

  • Maximum grant: $2,500 per applicant
    Standard applicants: at least 50% co‑contribution (cash)
    Not‑for‑profits: at least 25% co‑contribution
    Pensioners: no co‑contribution required (eligible for up to 100% funding)

    Key dates
  • Applications close: 1 May 2026 (or earlier if funds are exhausted)
    • Project completion: 31 December 2026
    • Acquittal due: 28 February 2027

 

How to apply

Download the Guidelines and Application Form or collect a hard copy from the Shire (17 Queen Street). You’ll need to attach:

  1. Heritage Impact Matrix (Local Planning Policy 13.15 – Heritage Listed Places)
  2. Minimum 4 photos of the place and proposed works area
  3. At least 2 quotes for the works

Approved projects must use qualified trades, obtain necessary approvals, acknowledge the Shire’s support, and submit a brief acquittal with photos and receipts.
