Youth Centre Gathering – First Ideas Taking Shape
Our first Youth Centre gathering was held last Tuesday, bringing together local high school students and young adults for an informal meet‑and‑greet and brainstorming session. The aim of this initial catch‑up was to start building connections, introduce the purpose of the space, and encourage young people to take the lead in shaping how the centre should grow.
It was fantastic to meet several of our local high schoolers and to welcome some new faces to town who stopped by to introduce themselves. The group spent time discussing what they’d like to see at the Youth Centre and how both the indoor and outdoor areas could be used.
Participants sketched ideas, created concept drawings, and added their thoughts to themed post‑it stations—answering questions about activities, equipment, layout, and the kind of atmosphere they want the space to have.
This was just the beginning. The first official Youth Centre meeting will take place this Thursday afternoon, where we’ll start refining ideas and building a plan together. We look forward to continuing this positive momentum and seeing the youth of Pingelly shape a space that truly belongs to them.
